The curriculum and platform are incredibly easy to use there is virtually no "prep time" required, though it's always a great idea to familiarize yourself with the material you're teaching. It's enough of a wage for me at this time, though I know some folks think the pay is too low. If you teach during peak hours, teach 45 lessons per month, show up for your lessons on time, and don't sub out classes with less than 24 hours notice, then it's easy to get the highest hourly rate.

When I first opened up my schedule, I went to bed and woke up to a ton of bookings over the next several months! Yay! I consistently have a full schedule each week (I only teach during their peak hours so that I receive that extra $ per hour). EF allows me to use my own teaching style. First and foremost, I appreciate that EF welcomes an array of teaching styles I'm quite the bubbly and active person, but I'm not a huge fan of the whole-body, pantomime-everything-you-say ESL teaching style. I've read some other not-so-good reviews, but I'm really enjoying teaching remotely with EF.

The fact is I am no longer making enough money to justifying paying for the Gig speed internet that you really need to ensure you do not have connection drop outs in my area. It looks like they hired a lot of people during the pandemic and now they are trying to get teachers who have been around a while and make more money to quit, so they can hire in more newbies at 12$ an hour. And since you need open classes to establish new regulars I have been forced to start looking for a new job. They only gave me one class on the open board this week. Now they changed it again (back to auto booking with no assurance of any classes) and it got even worse if it were not for my established regular students I would have almost no classes. I went from 20 hours a week to less than ten. Recent changes in how classes are scheduled equate to teacher all rushing to book a very limited amount of classes. But it was ok because it was easy and work from home. I have been working for EF to bring in a little extra money for years and the flexibility is the main reason I stayed.
